Sell internationally from the shop you already have.
Add a currency in Settings and your storefront shows converted prices and takes the payment in that currency. Switch on languages and the pages read in theirs.
Every price stays in your store currency. Add the currencies you want to sell in and Orbit converts, rounds and refreshes them for you, or you type the rate yourself.
Automatic or manual rates
Each currency runs on market rates refreshed every 12 hours, or on a rate you set that never moves until you change it. Press Update rates now when you want a fresh one.
Rounding you choose
Converted prices round to the nearest cent, up, down, or not at all, currency by currency. Your base prices are untouched.
Nothing half-ready goes live
A currency with no rate stays hidden from the storefront until a rate arrives or you set one, so a shopper never sees a price built on a guess.
Switch off, keep the data
Disable a currency and it leaves the switcher; remove it and shoppers no longer see those prices. Your store currency is set when the store is created, so orders and reports stay in one unit.
Pick a default language, add the ones you want to offer, and every product, category, page, blog post, menu and page builder text is translated as shoppers first view it. Correct any product, category or page translation yourself when the wording matters.
Dozens of languages to choose from
French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese and more, with Welsh and Irish on the list. The order you set is the order in the storefront switcher.
Translated on first view
Auto-translate runs in the background the first time a shopper opens something in a language, then serves the stored translation. Nothing to export, nothing to paste back.
Your words win
Open the Translations tab on a product, category or page, edit the text and it is marked Manual. When the source changes later it is flagged Source changed, never overwritten. Reset to auto whenever you like.
Re-translate on demand
Changed your tone of voice? Re-translate store replaces every automatic translation from your default language and keeps the ones you wrote.
Six things that happen on their own once a currency or a language is switched on.
Refreshing the rates
Market rates are fetched every 12 hours, with a second provider if the first is down, and cached for 15 minutes between reads.
Picking the shopper’s currency
A first-time visitor is matched to a currency from their location and the page switches to it; the match is kept in a cookie, so every page after that is server-rendered with the right prices.
Carrying it through checkout
The basket is created in the currency the shopper chose, the order is placed in it and the card is charged in it on the Stripe-hosted card step.
Translating as they browse
The first view of a product, category, page, blog post or menu in a language queues its translation; after that the stored text is served.
Flagging what went stale
When you edit the English, automatic translations are redone and the translations you wrote by hand are flagged Source changed for you to review.
Staying inside your allowance
Machine translation draws on your store’s AI allowance. If it runs out, shoppers see the source text rather than a broken page, and translation resumes when the allowance does.
Every detail
The exact terms, currency by currency.
What a careful buyer wants before switching on a second currency or language: what is on the list, what converts and what is translated.
Currencies
Pounds, euros, dollars and more.
GBP, EUR, USD, JPY, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, SGD, CHF and IDR can be added from Settings and picked by shoppers from the storefront switcher. Your store currency is set when the store is created.

Rates and rounding
Automatic every 12 hours, or manual.
Rates come from market data with a fallback provider and are cached for 15 minutes. Set a manual rate on any currency and it never moves until you edit it. Round converted prices to the nearest cent, up, down or not at all.

Checkout and orders
Charged in the currency they browsed in.
The basket, the order and the Stripe charge all run in the shopper’s currency, and your dashboard shows the order in that currency. Card rates depend on where the card was issued: European cards 3%, 2.7% and 2.5% + 25p on Solo, Team and Pro or Enterprise; cards issued outside Europe 3.65%, 3.35% and 3.15% + 25p.
English (UK and US), French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Welsh, Irish, Greek, Turkish, Romanian, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malay. Regional variants are on the list in their own right: English (UK) and English (US), Portuguese for Portugal and for Brazil, Chinese Simplified and Traditional.

Getting it there
Zones by country, customs built in.
Shipping zones take whole countries, states or regions with their own rates. International labels bought through Orbit Shipping (Parcelforce Worldwide, FedEx UK and GlobalPost among the carriers) come with a customs declaration: HS code, country of origin, declared value and a CN22/CN23 form to print. Your EORI, IOSS, OSS, VOEC or UKIMS numbers are stored encrypted and sent with the label.
Tax zones by country, state or postcode with their own rates, and built-in rate tables that set up UK and EU VAT zones in one go, VAT-inclusive as UK and EU shoppers expect. UK and EU VAT numbers can be checked against HMRC and VIES.

Prices convert, nothing to re-enter
Every price converts from your store currency, and a manual rate and a rounding rule give you control of the result.

Detected
The shopper’s currency
The currency is detected and remembered on phones, tablets and desktops, and the page builder’s Currency Switcher element puts the control in your layout.
It is set when the store is created, so pick the one you report in. Everything else converts from it.

An AI allowance with room
Machine translation uses the store’s AI allowance that comes with every plan. A big catalogue in six languages uses more of it; if it runs out, shoppers see the source text and translation resumes when it resets.
Card rates differ by where the card was issued; the full table is on the payments page.

Which of these is you?
I sell to Ireland and the EU
Add EUR, put your IOSS number under Settings > Shipping so import VAT is collected at your checkout instead of on the doorstep, and add Irish if it matters to your customers.
