The flat-priced ShopWired alternative
Orbit Commerce vs ShopWired.
Looking for a ShopWired alternative? ShopWired is a capable UK platform with a real feature list — and plans capped by annual turnover, so selling more is the trigger for paying more. Orbit is UK-based with flat plans from £25 a month: unlimited products, no turnover caps, and Amazon, eBay and Etsy included.

A meter running on your turnover.
No drama here either. ShopWired publishes the caps openly — but they change what a good year costs you.
ShopWired's plans aren't sized by features so much as by how much you sell. Essentials (£34.95 + VAT a month) covers you to £50,000 a year of turnover. Cross it and you're on Advanced at £79.95. Cross £200,000 and it's Premium at £149.95; past £500,000, Enterprise starts at £299.95. The plan moves because your sales did, whether or not you need a single new feature. And on Essentials, the add-ons stack: unlimited staff accounts are £5 + VAT a month, trade accounts £10 — things the higher tiers include.
Orbit's plans are £25, £85 and £249 a month, or £19, £64 and £187 billed yearly — and none of them carries a turnover cap. A £60,000 year and a £600,000 year cost the same on the same plan. Every plan has unlimited products, 100GB to 1TB of storage, and gift cards and abandoned-cart recovery included. There's no platform fee on your sales: the published card rate (2%, 1.7% or 1.5% + 25p online, stepping down as you grow) is the whole story.
Worth knowing while you compare: ShopWired's tiers were recently restructured upwards — the old £29.95 entry plan became today's £34.95 Essentials. Prices you find in older reviews may be out of date.
Amazon, eBay and Etsy, today.
If marketplaces are part of your plan, the integrations list is worth reading closely.
ShopWired has a solid native eBay integration, and its features page lists Amazon and Etsy as coming soon. Orbit's channel plugins for Amazon, eBay and Etsy are free and live now: listings push out from your catalogue, stock stays synced, and marketplace orders land in your dashboard as native orders. If you already sell on the marketplaces and want your own store alongside them — or the other way round — that difference is the day-one experience.
Both platforms are UK-based businesses with UK hosting and support. Choosing either keeps your bills in pounds and your support in your timezone — the honest differences are the pricing shape and the integrations above.
Who should pick which.
Different businesses, different right answers. Here's our honest take.
Choose Orbit Commerce if…
- You’re planning to grow and don’t want your platform bill tied to your turnover.
- You sell (or want to sell) on Amazon, eBay or Etsy — the plugins are free and live today.
- You want a modern drag-and-drop page builder rather than picking from a theme catalogue.
- You want gift cards, cart recovery and subscriptions in the plan, with one published card rate and no platform fee.
- You want an entry price of £25 a month (£19 yearly) without add-ons stacking on top.
ShopWired may fit better if…
- You want UK phone support on every plan — theirs runs Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm, from a UK team.
- You need trade/B2B accounts at a small-business price: £10 a month on their cheapest plan, included above it.
- Your turnover sits comfortably under £50k and the Essentials price with add-ons still works out for you.
- You want the widest choice of UK payment gateways — ShopWired integrates 35+.
Moving from ShopWired, without losing your rankings.
Switching platforms sounds scarier than it is. Here's what actually moves.
Export your products, customers and orders from ShopWired. Orbit's importer takes CSV or Excel files with as many rows as you have. Products land with variants and images mapped, customers keep their details, and order history comes across for your records. URL redirects are set up as part of the move, so the links that rank on Google today keep resolving afterwards — the part of replatforming that most often goes wrong, made routine.
Run the import from your dashboard and point your domain when you're ready. Or book a free migration call and walk your catalogue through it with our team first. Email and live chat support are included on every plan; see pricing for what each plan includes.
